This week at camp was carnival week. This week the Bears and their counselor Kristin had fun playing
volleyball, at the peanut butter pit, and at Kim Possible learning about separating colors. They also did very
well at the rock wall. Katie Hansen and the Bengals made the winning mask this week, had fun boating and
finding turtles, and loved special event when they put bubbles on Katie. The Broncos with their counselor
Rachel, loved playing animal tag at the playground. The Cardinals led by Amy Z., Richard, Curtis had fun
playing camouflage with the leaders and loved special event. Elena led the Chargers who loved the rock wall
and special event. The Chiefs who were led by Frieda and Katie loved swimming. Jess M. led the Cowboys
with help from Paige. They loved basketball and archery. The Dolphins led by Ross with help from Grant
loved playing basketball. Lyndsey and Dan led the Eagles loved the high ropes course, especially the eagle
cross! Cat and Sarah led the Falcons loved special event led by the leaders. The waterfront staff held a sand
castle contest, where everyone won a special award. Emily led the Giants who loved special event. The
Jaguars who were led by Courtney loved special event, especially the pudding slide, and they also had lots of
first time climbers. Lindsey Stone led the Panthers who enjoyed special event, the rock wall, their own flour
fights, and drip, drip, drop! The Patriots led by Michelle loved archery, rock wall, playing sports, and special
event. Jess D. led the Rams who enjoyed dumping water on each other and getting very wet, special event,
the sand castle competition, made a cool mask, and loved cheering Jose on while he completed high ropes.
Arts and Crafts with Audrey was so much fun, especially when they made mosaics and the older kids did well
making sunglasses. Drama this week had a theme of keys. They played “Keeper of the Keys” and did skits
with the word “key” in it. In science, Kim taught the campers about colors and color separation. Special activity
had a new game called “Swedish Baseball”. The older campers also made soft pretzels. Nicole
Despotopolus beat herself in cup stacking for the “3-3-3”. Adventure had many new climbers and new
records. On the Easy side of the rock wall we had Ryan Fisher with a record of 14 seconds. On the Medium
side we had Connor Leland with a record of 38 seconds. On the Hard side we had Brianna Sullivan with a
record of 37.44 seconds. In Archery, the campers had fun shooting, and Sam Tula took his first shot and did
very well. The wonderful Leaders rule! This week was so much fun. We are all amazing car washers and
interior designers We can’t wait for another fun-filled leader week … and that’s why we like them!
Awards
Bears- Caring Award- Sophie Frem because she always cooperates and helps other campers out.
Bengals- Respect Award- Ryan Bruchalter because he always looks out for everyone in the group and
helping out and respecting everyone
Broncos- Honesty Award- Meg Paluzzi because she watches out for others
Cardinals- Responsibility Award- Jared Kingsbury was responsible after boating when he made sure that all
the life vests and paddles were by the tree when they were finished.
Chargers- Caring Award- Brian Hammerstrom because he is always encouraging all of the campers in the
group
Chiefs- Respect Award – Julia Levins for sharing sand toys very well at swimming.
Cowboys- Honesty Award- Tyler Conely because he is always honest if out in a game
Dolphins- Responsibility Award- Rachel St. Pierre because she always helps out without being asked
Eagles- Caring Award- Brooke Bruchalter because even though it is her first week she is very helpful
Falcons- Respect Award- Meghan Lauze because she always listens to her counselor and other campers
Giants- Honesty Award- Veronica Kimmins because she is very honest with her counselors and had a very
open relationship with her fellow campers
Jaguars- Responsibility – Sarah Connolly because she is attentive to camp grounds
Panthers- Caring Award- Emily Hammerstom because she always gives up her turn so others can go first
Patriots- Respect Award- Vanessa O’Donnell because she always respect the staff and other campers
Rams- Honesty Award- Jose Rodriguez because he is always honest with both staff and other campers
Water Front- Caring Award- Teddy Lindenburg for giving a high five to Nate Myers after winning red light green
light.
Waterfront - Responsibility Award- Gianna Young for telling the kids to please be quite during buddy checks.
Science and Drama – Caring Award- Sophie Jackson for helping wash out cups at science.
Science and Drama- Honest Award- Patrick Graddy-lopez For keeping his eyes closed during the game
keeper of the key’s.
Special Activity- Respect- Zack St. Pierre for being a supper listener when explaining directions.
Special Activity - Responsibility Award - Audry Keohane for being the only one to follow directions before we
started anew game.
Adventure - Responsibility Award - Rachel St. Pierre for making a line with her feet for a safety line.
Adventure - Honesty Award – Griffin Waitkus told counselor that he didn’t know how to put on a harness and
asked for help.
Archery - Caring Award - Lizzie Carlson For helping others to shoot and encouraging them.
Archery – Responsibility Award – John Henry DeRiviera for spending his lunch helping find arrows.
Arts & Crafts – Caring Award – Zachary Boulay for sharing his mosaic pieces with a girl from his group.
Arts & Crafts – Respect Award – Zachary St. Pierre For waiting in line quietly.
Leaders – Respect Award – Jess Braveman respects everyone’s opinion values the leader program and is a
constant role model.
Leaders – Honesty Award – Hunter Jones took time to admit for doing something wrong and took time to
apologize to the whole group which takes great courage.
