CAMP NEWSLETTER

This session at Camp Harrington was full of many memorable experiences for each and every group.  The
Bears had an awesome time when they had a dance party with their favorite stuffed animals to close the
session, while the Bengals had a blast seeing turtles in canoes and making 3-D glasses at Arts and Crafts.
The Broncos liked Tattoo Tuesday, when they brought in their own tattoos.  They also had a good time playing
water-balloon dodgeball and working as a group.  The Cardinals loved special event, and they had fun
making strawberry smoothies on Friday, and the Chargers loved when everyone participated in swimming
and had lots of fun….even the new campers!!  One of the Chief’s favorite memories was playing with bubbles
in the field for fun.  They also enjoyed basketball and chalk.  The Cowboys all participated in high ropes, sang
a group song, and all loved volleyball, while the Dolphins loved the Peanut Butter Pit as well as archery.  In
addition, they loved bringing their families with them to Family Night.  The Eagles had a great time making a
really tall sand castle and making the hot houses as a group.  One group that loved water was the Falcons.
They enjoyed playing water-ballon wiffle ball and having water wars in their canoes.  The Giants were very
proud that they completed the low ropes course, and they enjoyed street hockey.  On the other hand, the
Jaguars learned to juggle and had the highest temperature for their solar panels!!  The Patriots will
remember their potluck breakfast, high ropes, water-balloon volleyball, and the birthday party they planned for
two campers, while the Panthers will remember spending time with their friends, archery, foods, rock
climbing, and spending time with Leaders.  The Rams loved the playpen in low ropes, swimming in the lake,
and climbing the easy wall blind-folded, where they set the record of 32 seconds!!  At Arts and Crafts, lots of
memories were made making mosaics, 3-D frame boxes, masks, decorated glasses, and the cards that the
Patriots made for a birthday party (which were decorated with feathers, sequins, and markers).  During the
session at Special Activity, there were all new records at Cupstacking, the Jaguars made a new game, and
the Dolphins loved the game “Honey, If You Love Me”.  In Archery/Nature, Andrew Gendler and Chris Peterson
are retrieving arrows for getting 5 bullseyes!!  During Drama/Science time, it was a lot of fun to make solar
houses, which got hot in the sun; the record temperature was 172° F.  Also, the campers acted without using
words (pantomimes) and played telephone without using words.  Adventure time (climbing wall, high ropes,
and low ropes) was fun, too.  David Rodriguez climbed well on inclined wire.  Haley climbed the Eagle Walk
well.  At the waterfront, Gwen Safran helped minnows learn to swim, and Sean Pratt learned the backstroke
wonderfully.  Finally, the Leaders had an awesome week.  From Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell to working
as a team on the Giant’s Ladder, they were all amazing, and that’s why we like them.  Overall, it was an
amazing session at camp.
